UB40 – Labour of Love

UB40, a British raggae band, released their fourth studio album Labour of Love in 1983. Labour of Love was the first UB40 album featuring covers done by the band and most notably their cover of “Red Red Wine.” Labour of Love reached number 1 in the UK, New Zealand, and the Netherland, as well as top 5 in Canada. Unfortunately Labour of Love only peaked at 39 in the US before being reentered in 1988 which resulted in it peaking at 14 in the US. Labour of Love features a host of singles such as: “Please Don’t Make Me Cry,” “Red Red Wine,” and “Many Rivers to Cross.”

 

Linda Ronstadt – Living in the USA

Linda Ronstadt’s ninth studio album Living in the USA was released in 1978. It was subsequently the last Ronstadt album that would reach number 1 on the Billboard album chart in the US. Living in the USA was the sixth consecutive album to reach Platinum certification by the RIAA. Living in the USA was also the first album to ever ship internationally as Double Platinum. Living in the USA showcases a host of Ronstadt hits such as: “Back in the U.S.A.,” “When I Grow Too Old to Dream,” “Just One Look,” “Alison,” “Ooh Baby Baby,” and “Love Me Tender.”
