Today April 23rd Is National Lost Dog Awareness Day

It should come as no surprise I love animals but I really do LOVE dogs. I have a Border Collie and an Australian Shepperd and these two dogs are members of the family. They are both rescue dogs and the amount of joy these two dogs bring to my life can not be measured.

When I discovered today, Tuesday, April 23rd is National Lost Dog Awareness Day I couldn’t resist the temptation to write about the day.

The day was created in 2014 and the day was established not only to bring attention to lost dogs but it’s also a day to celebrate the reunions of the lost connections. Through a network of shelters, vets and through social media lost dogs are reunited with their owners.

I can not start to imagine the pain and anguish I would feel if either of my dogs was lost.  I, like many dog owners, would pay just about any amount of money to find my dogs if they were lost.

Plus when I discover anyone who has a lost dog, I will always go out of my way to help them find their pup. Along the same lines, I have already found a dog just wandering around and have taken the dog in and try to find the owner.

Remember not all stray dogs are homeless dogs.
