How Much Time Do You Spend Looking At a Screen Everyday?

Verizon recently releases a study on how much time we spend a day looking at some form of a screen. Think about it, we spend a lot of time every day looking at screens. And to increase the number of screen time, many of us work in front of a computer screen every day. Just ponder that question for a moment. How much time do you spend every day looking at a screen?

The Grand Forks Herald released the Verizon study and listed the states that spend the most and the least amount of time in front of a screen. We have video screens in every facet of our lives. The TV screen, video and computer screen. Our Smartphones and some watches have a screen. Our cars and trucks have a screen. For you to even come close to an actual time spent in front of a screen, you need an accurate count of all of the screens you use every day.

The study was produced from 2013-2017 from the American Time Use Survey. The study focused on the free time you have downloading files, surfing social media and searching the web. The activities which were omitted from the study were gammers, computer use for work and time spent online with your financial institution or shopping.

Here are some numbers from the study. The state which spends the most time online is Alaska at 2 hours and 45 minutes per day or 1010 hours a year or a total of two hours and 46 minutes a day on their computers, the most of any state.

Men spend the most time on their computers in 11 states and women beat the men in 31 states for the most time online.

The states with the least amount of time spent online include South Dakota, Vermont, North Dakota, Idaho, Indiana, Massachusetts, Kentucky, and  Michigan.

The states with the most amount of time spent online include Arkansas, Mississippi, Iowa, Florida, Tennessee, Arizona, New Hampshire, Missouri, and Louisiana with an average of 1 hour and 41 minutes online per day.
