Mustang 1071 is showing some love for Jack Miller’s Barbecue Sauce.

This sauce reminds me of summer. This is a go-to authentic Louisiana barbecue sauce. Just the tangy taste brings back so many memories. From visiting with my dad’s family way out in the country and having a Sunday barbecue to watching little league ball games and eating hamburgers from the concession stand. Not sure how it is in other towns, but if you are in Mamou or Ville Platte, this is the sauce that is automatically added to every burger. It is unique to Evangeline Parish.

Jack Miller’s is a family-owned company locally made in Ville Platte. The sauce originated in the kitchen of a restaurant. The sauce gets its name from the person who created the spicy chunky sauce.

Jack Miller operated a restaurant in the 1940s called the American Inn Restaurant. He whipped up a special sauce for his guests. The sauce was well-liked and due to the high demand, the sauce was soon available for purchase outside of the restaurant. By the 1950s, the sauce was on supermarket shelves.

This sauce is still family-owned and made in the same town it originated. For this reason, Mustang 1071 is showing love on Monday to Jack Miller’s Barbecue Sauce.
