Actress best known for her role in the 1970’s sitcom “Laverne and Shirley,” Cindy Williams died peacefully in her home in Los Angeles told by her assistant with no known cause of her stint of illness.
Williams who played Shirley in the sitcom , “Laverne and Shirley” a spinoff of the show “Happy Days.” The show followed the two women that worked in a Milwaukee brewery and ran for eight seasons. Her co-star Penny Marshall, Laverne, passed as well at 75 only five years prior in 2018. Williams appeared in over 150 episodes and left in the final season after known tension between her on-set complement Laverne portrayed by Marshall.
Years later after Williams fell pregnant the two reconciled and was apart of a short-lived animated series “Laverne and Shirley in the Army.”
The actress started her career in television with national commercials for Foster Sunglasses and Trans World Airlines.
Other than Williams portrayal of Shirley in both shows, she also appeared in other shows like, “7th Heaven”, “Room 222”, and “Nanny and the Professor.”
Williams is survived by her two children, Emily and Zak Hudson and ex-husband Bill Hudson (div. 2000).
