The Town of Gueydan has a new police chief.
Mayor Jude Reese reports Cru Delcambre was appointed by a unanimous vote on Monday night. Delcambre replaces former chief Shawn Theriot, who resigned a week earlier. Theriot was indicted for malfeasance in office in 2021.
Delcambre has previous law enforcement experience with the Vermilion Parish Sheriff Department.
