This pandemic has hit some households harder than others. There is a community organization in Lafayette that is aiming to reduce food insecurity and food waste by sharing the love. Lafayette Community Fridge is a project created by neighbors. It offers free food inside community fridges that is accessible by people in the area.

Locals are encouraged to donate. They accept produce non-perishables such as canned food and pasta. Bread and pastries, dairy products, eggs, and homemade meals are also accepted. If you donated pre-made meals, be sure to wear gloves and masks while preparing. All food should be placed inside the fridge.

Please reframe from donating raw meat, open containers, or leftovers.

If you want to help the cause in more ways than donating food, the Lafayette Community Fridge organization also accepts monetary donations and volunteer opportunites.
