Lundi Love – Lil Daddy’s

It is easy to get in the habit of eating at the same restaurants all the time. This weekend, I noticed that I was out of charcoal and also had a craving for something barbecued. A friend told me about this place just off of Evangeline Throughway located in an Exxon Gas station that served up really good barbecue plates.

Luckily we live in the southern part of the United States. The gas stations in the South have the best food. Seriously, if you can’t decide what to eat, just stop by a random gas station and try the fried chicken. More than likely it will be the best you have ever tasted. I have a sister who lives in Iowa. She agrees. Gas stations in the midwest mostly serve soggy sandwiches.

But anyway, on Saturday I drove out to the Exxon at the corner of Pinhook and Evangeline and picked up a Barbecue Rib plate lunch and it was better than good. The barbecue sauce alone was tangy and delicious. My son compared to my dad’s ribs.

The next time you are in the mood for smokey, spicy and local, head over to Lil Daddy’s Real Pit Barbecue. The menu is posted online so you can pick out what you want before you arrive. It saves time, and you won’t have to hold up the line while awkwardly staring at the menu.

Lil Daddy’s Real Pit Barbecue is open Monday through Saturday. It serves up dry rub ribs, brisket, and chicken unless of course you arrive too late in the day and they run out.
