Both lps celebrate monumental anniversaries – We will begin with “Legend – The Best of Bob Marley & The Wailers” – This is the greatest selling reggae lp of all time – celebrating 35 years since its release. “Look Sharp!” the Joe Jackson debut celebrates 40 years since it’s release.

The second lp in today’s program is one of my favorites and one that I feel is very unappreciated by many… Look Sharp! is the debut lp from Joe Jackson … This album has one of my favorite covers … it is very simple … it features a pair of white shoes; and was ranked number 22 on Rolling Stone’s list of the 100 greatest covers of all time … it also received a Grammy nod for Best Recording Package …
this was a brilliant debut … it did so well that the band rush released the follow up “I’m The Man” that Jackson has called Look Sharp! Part Two …Best Ever Albums Dot Com considers Look Sharp! to be the 30th best lp of 1979 …Digital Dream Door Dot Com considers it to be the 99th best … difference of opinions I guess … I would agree with Best Ever Albums Dot Com …
