Ringo Starr – Ringo

Ringo Starr’s third studio album Ringo was released in 1973 under Apple Records. It quickly gained commercial success in the native UK as well as the US peaking at No. 7 in the UK and No. 2 on the Billboard 200. It was also a great success in Canada reaching No. 1 on the RPM national albums chart. Ringo would inevitably be certified platinum by the RIAA and broke ground with the appearance of many guests on the album including all four Beatles. Ringo hosts a plethora of hits such as: “I’m the Greatest,” “Photograph,” “Sunshine Life for Me,” “You’re Sixteen,” “Oh My My,” “Six O’Clock,” and “You and Me (Babe).”

Ringo Starr – Goodnight Vienna

Ringo Starr’s fourth studio album Goodnight Vienna was released in 1974. Although Goodnight Vienna did not meet the critical success as its predecessor Ringo  only peaking at number 30 in the native UK and would be the last charting album in Ringo’s homeland until the 1990’s. Across the pond Goodnight Vienna had much more success peaking at number 8 in the US and receiving a gold certification by the RIAA. Goodnight Vienna featured a lot of the same guests that appeared on the previous album Ringo and boasts a few hits, albeit less than Ringo. Such hits consists of: “(It’s All Down to) Goodnight Vienna,” “Husbands and Wives,” “Snookeroo,” “No No Song,” and “Only You.”
