Lost My Tips Fund

More help is on the way for restaurant workers!

This COVID-19 has really put a strain on the economy. In order to control the infection rate of COVID-19, restaurants, and bars were recently forced to close their dining areas. Lafayette’s Downtown area was once lively, and energetic is now resembling an abandoned ghost town. Several eateries have had to downsize. This has left servers and bartenders without a job.

A 14-day initiative has been created to help ease financial hardship for these Downtown service industry workers. It is called the Lost My Tips Fund. It is an online digital fundraising campaign. The goal is to raise $30,000. The money will be used to help as many service industry workers in the Downtown Area as possible.

The idea came about after similar fundraiser, Lost My Gig, was started to help Downtown musicians who have been out work due to the closing of bars and restaurants. Social Entertainment collaborated with Downtown Lafayette, Parish Brewing, Robbie Breaux & Team, Runway Dish, The Law Offices of Matt & Allen, and United Way of Acadiana.

If you are a server or bartender who has recently lost your job because of the COVID-19 crisis, you can apply for assistance. Connect with the Lost My Tips Facebook page and follow the instructions to apply for help.

If you are interested in contributing to this online fundraiser to help Downtown Workers, donations are being accepted United Way or through the Lost My Tips Facebook page.
