John Prine Loses His Battle With COVID-19

The COVID-19 pandemic has taken another legend. Singer-Songwriter John Prine passed away Tuesday, April 7, 2020. He was 73. He died from complications of COVID-19.

John Prine was an award-winning musician. The Chicago born artist started his career in the 1960s singing at open mic nights. From the beginning, critics praised his performances. His career took a turn when Kris Kristofferson hired him to perform at a popular club in New York City. John Prine was offered a record deal. Soon he released an album that was later recognized in the Grammy Hall of Fame.

John Prine’s career in music would last 50 years. He has been nominated 11 times for a Grammy and has won two. His songs have been recorded by Miranda Lambert, Norah Jones, and George Strait.
