The Cajun Country Run is coming up at Acadiana Park in Lafayette Saturday, December 12, 2020.

Sign up at CajunCountry.run. The first 500 people to register will get a very cool-looking Cajun Country fleece cap!

This your chance to dress up in a Holiday costume and run through the largest Nature Park south of Chicot State Park. Wear a Santa Claus outfit, the Grinch, or any holiday theme, as long as you have a costume that represents the holiday spirit.

The Cajun Country Run has something for every type of runner! There are five different events. Compete in the Half Marathon, 10k or 5k, Trail, or pavement. The trail run is near the bayou.

The top finishers are awarded Alligator Head trophies. Plus, prizes given to best costume and fastest Santa. After the race, all participants get to enjoy a hearty bowl of Gumbo-laya.

This event supports the nonprofit group, TRAIL. TRAIL is dedicated to building and maintaining outdoor recreation. TRAIL is making Louisiana a better place by creating places to hike, ride, run, and paddle.

Volunteer to help with TRAIL events! Volunteers get free food, drinks, and shirts. Sign up here.

ATTENTION! HELP NEEDED!

TRAIL is holding a Clearing Party on Saturday, December 5th at Acadiana Park. The recent hurricane made a mess out of the trails that weave through the park. Due to Lafayette Consolidated Government budget cuts, the park is limited to one employee who is currently injured. TRAIL is gathering up as many people as possible to clear branches and make the trail safer for runners.

If you are interested in helping clear the trail, please use the google form link below and sign up. Beer, food, water, and soda will be provided for everyone who helps. Please email Ray and let her know you are attending!

Send email to ray@latrail.org

You can also send an email to let the TRAIL office know that you are coming. This way the office can provide enough snacks for everyone involved. Send the email to: ray@latrail.org

Thank you for your help.
