Feats Don’t Fail Me Now/On The Beach

Feats Don’t Fail Me Now

Feats Don’t Fail Me Now is the fourth studio album by Little Feat, released in 1974. Lowell George and company are one of my favorite bands …  their eclectic style of Southern Rock, R&B, Boogie and Country has always appealed to me.  I found this lp after discovering Dixie Chicken …  Feats Don’t Fail Me Now is a damn good Rock N Roll record … This is where Lowell George hit his pinnacle as a songwriter and band leader … This is one of the best lps that Little Feat ever cut … Best Ever Albums Dot Com considers the lp to be the 147th best of 1974 .. I am not sure that I agree with this assessment of this lp… Spanish Moon is one of my favorite tunes … I was fortunate to see Little Feat in concert about six months following the release of this lp … a show that I will never forget.

Notable Tracks –  ‘ Oh! Atlanta’ ‘Rock & Roll Doctor’  ‘Spanish Moon’ ‘Cold Cold Cold/Tripe Face Boogie’

On  The Beach

Released in 1974, On the Beach is the fifth studio album by Neil Young … Recorded after, but released before ‘Time Fades Away’ – this is an lp that was basically panned by the critics … I bought this album for the song ‘Walk On’ – Which opens the lp… On the Beach was not a commercial success at the time of its release but over time attained a high regard from fans and critics alike… Best Ever Albums Dot Com considers On The Beach the third best lp of 1974, the 58th best of the 1970’s and 229th of all time…

Notable Tracks – ‘Walk On’ ‘Revolution Blues’ ‘Ambulance Blues’
